One day feels like spring,
and the next it's winter again.
We humans, naked mammals easily chilled,
grow impatient, eager for weather more to our liking.
We should learn the value of waiting
and trust the steadfast cycles of the universe.
For surely as the earth tilts back and forth
on its course around the sun,
winter weakens, giving way to spring.
Darkness yields to the light,
and cold gives way to warmth.
From the decaying leaves of seasons past,
new life arises from the earth.
Arise! My eager heart trembles.
